The People’s Action Party is rebranding itself to attract more youths. No longer content to be portrayed as the Men in White (MIW), they now wish to be known as the M:i:W.

“We want to speak the language of today’s Singaporean youth,” said PAP Youth Wing spokesman Pian Gee Nah. “And that means lots of abbreviations and strange punctuation.”

The idea to associate itself with the new Tom Cruise movie arose because, according to Mr. Pian, “People said it would be an impossible mission for the PAP to get votes from young, first time voters. But we scored well with them.”

“Anyway,” he continued. “The movie is an action movie, and we are also an action party, mah.”

But is trying to suggest that our new Prime Minister is like Tom Cruise a bit far fetched?

“Not really,” blushed Mr. Pian. “Our PM has a huge mandate, and Tom Cruise is rumoured to like dating huge men, so… same-same, lah.”

The new branding seems to meet with approval from most people polled by this reporter.

“I can believe the MIW, sorry, M:i:W, is just like M:i:III,” said moviegoer Khee Quah Hee. “Both are basically telling the same old story, just with a bigger budget each time.”

Meanwhile, the Singapore Democratic Party is also rumoured to be undergoing a movie-related rebranding of their own after their poor showing at the polls, i.e. "Poseidon".

hahaha... M:i:W...
